A new Super8 camera is available to the shooting public for the first time in almost 30 years. 

Danish/Norwegian company Logmar has released a brand new professional Super 8 camera. It accepts standard 50 foot Super 8 film cartridges while incorporating some essential modern features such as a digital viewfinder, digital audio recording.  While taking advantage of the classic beauty of Super8 film, now available in numerous stocks, the new camera offers modern attributes.

A few key specifications:

Build in light meter

Programmable frame rates: 16fps to 54fps, including 23.976fps for NTSC compatibility (with crystal phase-locked-loop synchronization)

Exchangeable lenses via C-Mount

Runs on 7.2V video camera batteries

The camera is currently available for $3500 for the first 20 cameras sold, then the price will be $5000.  Orders can be placed with Pro8mm.

It accepts standard 50 foot Super 8 film cartridges and incorporates some essential modern features such as a digital viewfinder, SD card slots, and an in-built microphone,
taking advantage of the classic beauty of Super8 film, now available in numerous stocks, the new camera offers modern attributes.



A few key specifications:

Variable frame rates: 9fps to 25fps crystal synchronization.

Exchangeable lenses via C-Mount

Focal Length: Fixed 6mm, 1:1.2 Ricoh Lens, optional zoom 8-48mm kens.

Viewfinder: 3,5" display with standard definition video input

The camera will be available for between $400 and $750 and Kodak will be offering a "shoot, develop, scan, and deliver" package.

Film9 is a powerful application for "restoring" computer video footage that has been transferred from film, typically Super8, but any film type can be restored with Film9.  There is an English version, and tutorials about how to use the program.  Visit the link below, and download the Film9 zip file.

ABOUT MISHKIN PRODUCTIONS

Mishkin Productions was a small independent film company with the intent of producing uniquely stylised short films.

With completion of the filming of "Eve's Song" in early 2010, Mishkin Productions has finished active film making.  Instead the focus will be helping out with equipment hire, productions, and general assistance to budget film makers.
